Gilbert Synergie Match Rugby Ball Overview
The Synergie ball differs from Gilbert's Xact match ball with a principal advancement of Multi Matrix 3D pimple technology. The Multi Matrix technology uses a star-shaped pimple instead of the conventional round pimple and works by interlocking two pimple patterns. The Synergie has 7000 extra pimples on the ball compared to the Xact ball, by using different heights whilst ensuring the aerodynamics of the Synergie ball. The net result is that the handling characteristics of Synergie are up to 30-Percent better than Xact in wet conditions and the kicking performance, as with all Gilbert balls, is balanced, consistent and accurate. The Synergie was the Official Match Ball at the 2007 Rugby World Cup games.
